Humor Him

i skipped back in my devos looking at the dates where i completely missed doing it. And i stumbled upon this one. About pleasing God.

Firstly, NO ONE CAN PLEASE GOD without faith. Just as the verse states at the end, its impossible to please him because we have to draw near to him and know he actually exists to please him. Makes perfect sense.

In suffering. This sounds like God is horrible, but he's not. If you're suffering, taking on for the blow for something good, say... missions or standing up for God, He will be happy with you.

Sacrifice. God honors and delights in those who are sacrificial. Willing to give up anything for something. May it be as simple as a lunch for the homeless, or giving up his life to stop a good cause.

If you notice something... there's a link. Suffering. Sacrifice. sounds like a familiar someone no? Jesus Christ himself! He suffered for ALL OF US, before we were born into this world, he suffered through the whipping, the beating, through rejection by others, and judgement. Sacrifice. He was the greatest sacrifice of all time! God gave his ONLY SON to DIE on the cross for all the sinners in the world. Isnt that beyond amazing? There are probably more examples, and more things that God is pleased with, but i think the main message is that He is pleased when we follow him. As Christians, we live while setting our eyes on Christ. He's the greatest example, the PERFECT example. Follow his footsteps, and God will be pleased.

With the greatest price paid, the greatest sacrifice laid. The most we can do is dedicate our lives to Christ. Serving him back and giving thanks and giving back for all he's blessed us with. Dedicate your bodies as living sacrifices, worshiping him and him alone.

⁶And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
