Bring. Train. Send.

Image
Parent or Child, we all need to and should train a Child, the ones around us, or the little ones from evil ways when they are young so they do not turn from it when they get older. Now, thinking back or thinking now, would you say you are discipling them on YOUR standard? or God's standard? We need to be training them IN THE LORD, not IN US. Like my church says, "bring them in, train them up, and send them out". We've gotten through the bringing them in, we train them, but it doesnt say keep them, it doesnt say keep training, it says send them out. God has plans for each and everyone of us and we have to be able to let go ourselves as well as let go of others and let God take the reigns of their lives. His plans are ready and set before you were born. The choice is yours whether to follow it or not. verse of the night: Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a f

Forever & Always

Image
We have to constantly be praising and glorifying our God day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute. He's done so much for us and its an act of worship towards our Lord. We have to also remember to praise wholeheartedly and constantly. God made each and everyone of us to desire to worship. So our bodies are created for worship, so we should be worshiping God. Nothing else. Not sex. Not materialistic things. Not our lovers or spouses, not our academics, not our friends, not the world of cyberspace, and not any other idol. Worship and Praise. Forever and Always. verse of the night: Romans 12:1 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

(lol best picture i can find) He is here. He is there. He is all-knowing. God is constantly watching you. He's everywhere. He knows your every mood. He knows what you're up to. He knows what you're thinking. He knows your words before they come out of your mouth. Creepy? but true. Not only does he watch us physically, but he watches our hearts as well. He knows when we are lusting, or when something else is in place of him in our hearts, if our hearts are hardened or not. So know that he's always overlooking you. And he knows your every move. Its a good reminder when you're tempted. So keep it in mind. :) verse of the morning: 2 Chronicles 16:9 9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

Whatever Doesn't Kill Me, Makes Me Stronger

Image
i found today's (Jan 28th's) devos pretty similar and i wanted blog about both so i made it a combined post. SO. THIS MORNING... we learnt that strength is give to us through Christ. We shouldn't worry about whats to come. Let God take care of everything. Each day brings enough troubles to worry about. Why worry ahead of time. The main line of the devo was "Therefore, i accept weakness, mistreatment, hardship, persecution, and difficulties suffered for Christ. It's clear that when im weak, im strong". Hardships and sufferings are for Christ, and he will provide you with the strength when you need it. This kinda links into the evening devo, ... suffering and discipline brings pain but the result is joy. The pain is definitely temporary, but it produces eternal glory and fulfilling results. Jesus learn to be obedient through his sufferings. He was tempted to sin, but he didnt. Like we were talking today in MOBS, how one should do right even if it causes one t

Like Father, Like Son

Image
Ha, today i ALMOST couldnt do devos in the morning because i woke up late and almost missed my exam. BUT. now its over! So im very happy about that. I feel kinda lost though. I dont know what to do. I have nothing to work on, nothing to study... but here's what i learnt this morning. Like Father, Like Son. God sent Jesus to face everything we face. Whether if it was in the past (like stoning), the present, (temptations/jealousy), or the future (who knows what). Or vice versa. We face the challenges Christ faced. It may be difficult and a long struggle as we push through it, but we need to remember to face these tests and trials from God with our eternal life in sight as our motivation. Christ decided to pick a suffering life of goodness than the life of sinful pleasures. We should also be as strong and follow him in his decision as well. Dont be scared. Suffering is normal. and God is always by your side guiding you through it every step of the way. :) verse of the morning: 1

The Vine. The Branches.

Image
He is the Vine. We are the Branches. God planted each of us and made each of us as branches connected to the vine. He supplies us with what we need, but we can easily attract "infections" or "bad nutrients" that come into us and corrupts us. This would be sexual immorality, envy, drunkenness, perversion, etc... all this ruins the branch and sucks the good out of it. If God sees a branch connected to him that isnt being used for good, it will be pruned. If he keeps it there, it will continue sucking up "good" nutrients that can easily be wasted. Therefore pruning is needed. The life of a Christian after accepting our Lord goes through 2 main stages. TRIALS. and PRUNING. (i learnt this in sunday school) Trails would be the strong winds and storms God puts us through to test our strength or to strengthen us. While pruning would be God taking out all the bad in us. It can be people, it can be things, it can be habits, anything that may hinder us from seeing

Take Up The Cross

Image
Commitment. To the Max. If you decide to be a follower of Jesus, we have to remember and learn to give up everything. If you have a love or desire for sin, we have a hate for God. Same vice versa. If you have a Love for God, we must have a hate for sin. Following Christ, and when you believe, you have died from your sinful past, you evil ways and turning to God, your new Saviour. If you decide to commit to him, stick to it. If you choose to disown him, he will disown you. If we ever decide to boast, it should only be about our God and his blessings for us. verse of the evening: Matthew 16:24 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

To The Rock

Image
To The Rock. We Turn To. As a Christian we need to learn to turn to God. We cannot be completely independent because we cant get through it. There have been times where me myself thought that i could do it alone, but i really cant. its impossible. God is always with you. So no matter what kind of difficulty you are going through, do not lose heart for God. Turn to the Rock for wisdom. With humbleness. And God WILL give you the wisdom you desire. Not just wisdom, but for worries and burdens too. Give it up to him and trust that he will handle it. Give it all to God because he loves you and cares for you. Let him be the Rock of your life. He him ground you and keep you firm on your feet, so you dont turn to Satan. verse of the night: James 1:5 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

BeyondDeath

Image
God not only leads us through life, but he leads us beyond death. We should not be scared at all. Praise him for his goodness to us. Does death sound scary to you? Think positivity. Think on the other hand. If you believe that Christ is your lord and saviour, we should celebrate death because death is opening that last door to eternal life. to heaven. to eternal happiness. to a place and life without sin. without tears. without pain. Death is that key. But before getting to that stage, Allow God to guide you. Guide your life. And if you truly trust him, and decide to follow him, you will commit completely. That means learning and giving up the things and sins of this world for God. and letting HIM be the foundation of your life. Are you ready to take on this commitment? its worth it though. verse of the morning: Psalm 23:3-4 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,

humbleness preferred.

Image
God prefers the humble over the arrogant. God prefers to help the humble and the crushed ones instead of the prideful sinful ones. We have to let God take complete control of our lives. The source of pride is self love. Because one loves themselves and values and prizes themselves so much, they fall into Satan's trap of pride. And with that, we become blinded. We need to learn to be humble. Let him guide and control your life and let him assure that you are on the right path. Trust him. Stay humble. and He WILL lead you to everlasting life. verse of the night: Isaiah 57:15 15 For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.

the storms of life

Image
Suffering seems a bit odd with such a God who loves and cares for us right? Well, suffering happens in each and everyone of our lives because he uses it to train us. Think of it with the vine analogy. HE is the vine, WE are the branches. Now we, the branches have to go through storms and strong winds to grow stronger and sturdier. And like our lives, God allows these storms and winds to "attack" our lives, just to make us strong. Like it says, "whatever doesnt kill me, makes me stronger." also, what comes after a storm? a rainbow. hmmm symbolism anyone? Its also all a chain reaction. Suffering leads to Endurance, which then results in Character, then becoming Confidence and ultimately leading to Hope. God disciplines you to strengthen you. Let God do his work. Its not like how we think, but it works. Trust in him completely. verse of the morning: Hebrews 12:7-12 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not di

You Belong To Him

Image
We all belong to God. Nothing we have, own, see, belongs to us. Even our very own bodies. Nothing is under our possession. God made it all, and it is all his. Only our spirit. Our body is basically a instrument or vessel used to hold our spirit. Its like a video game. We can control the avatar on the screen. As written previously, our God made our bodies in his image, in his likeness, and therefore we can say that our bodies are temples of Christ. We should treat our body for God and use it for him. Yet, he's decided to give us even more! He's been constantly blessing us with more and more, we probably dont even know it. "Everything he has is given to us" if we follow him. verse of the night: Galatians 2:20 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

humble majesty.

Image
God gave up his son to come down as a servant. Does this sound just a bit weird? Well thats exactly how he came down. He couldnt come to be served, but he came TO SERVE. Now think of yourself as a servant. Its probably pretty hard since today's society is all about getting to the top and being the best, and the servants are just at the bottom. But we have to learn to avoid that and be humble. Serve your God and Serve Others. Stay humble, JUST as our Saviour did. verse of the morning: Romans 12:3 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

No Idea

Image
we have no idea. no idea of what God's plans are for us. what he has instore for us are unimaginable. He has plans for us for sure, and there is no way to find out what it is except by trusting, being faithful and living for him. One thing we can be sure of is that he will return for those who love and are faithful to him. When he returns he will bring the dead back to life, and bring the ones living with him. And by that we will always be with the Lord. We may know our fate of always being with our Lord but we have no idea of when he's coming or what he has for you. verse of the night: 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

living reflection

Image
Christ died for us. not just me. not just you. for EVERYONE. and through his death, God approved that our sinful lives could get to heaven but only through believing our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus was the best living example of all time. He was never sinful, he helped the poor, he loved unconditionally, he healed the blind, he casted demons and devils away, he conquered temptation and defeated death. He's the true example and we should follow him. God made humans on the 6th day in his image. in his likeness. so if we were to think of ourselves as "mini" versions of God, we have to be like him. We have to reflect his character. Think about it, if you were a representative of a big company, and you are sent out to another country to promote or whatever, and if you do bad things, curse, and just portray yourself really poorly, how would others think of you when you are representing your company? So Jesus is the head, and we are representatives he sends out. Do him well, and

from the rotting pit

Image
here are quick notes that probably wont make sense together but i really need to get the sleep i need for tmrw's math culminating. :S God has saved us from death and hell if we are true followers and believers of God. His character: forgiving, merciful, compassionate, strong, overlooking of sings He heals when we're in need and he lifts us up when we fall. Basically, through God's character, he sent his son to save us from the "rotting pit" also known as Hell. verse of the morning: Micah 7:18-19 18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. 19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

the invitation.

Image
how depressing. i've lost the every day posting of morning and night devos, but i think i cant really handle it... full on, so i've decided to just post one of the two, or when there something really important. Here's today's. We, all of us all over the world have been given and mailed an invitation. Its an open invitation. This invitation is salvation through accepting Jesus as our Lord and saviour. So basically, the relationship with God is open to everyone, everywhere. The only thing is that God is waiting day after day for you to accept it. It just may seem to good to be true, or you may think its a scam. But its true that he came to earth to die for each and everyone of us and he did conquer death. He came, died on the cross for your sins, and rose again. Now say.. you do accept. But what are you getting yourself into? Today, at our fellowship's leadership CORE meeting, i helped and did the pre-study for the bible study i co-wrote with my partner in "c

unrecognizable.

Image
He was beat. He was whipped. He was insulted. He was spat upon. He was hit. He was unrecognizable. ... He was humble. He was majestic. He was crucified. to CONQUER Sin and Death. He was GOD. This is the greatest sacrifice. We probably have no idea how brutal crucifixion was back then. If you really wanna know how everything worked, check it out here. God sent his one and only son to be like one of us. Born at the lowest of the lows so he could connect to us. Now, he couldve came all glorified and majestic over all, but he didnt. But most importantly, he came to destroy the devil. Conquer sin and prove he is the true God. Dec 11th 2010, we had SATURDAY NIGHT ALIVE where the story kinda relates to God's coming as a humble God. Check it out under: verse of the night: 1 John 3:8 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

As One

Image
God. Jesus. and the Holy Spirit all are one. They are the holy trinity as one may know. So techincally what you do to the son, you do to the father. I dunno, this devo again was really jumpy. But i think its better to post after reading since i kinda forget... but i do have my important liner. "I have loved you the same way the Father has loved me. So live in my love. If you obey my commandments, you will live in my love. I have obeyed my Father's commandments, and in that way i live in his love." Learn to LOVE and FEAR God, and we can show our love for him through out actions, serving and giving back. Or by simply obeying his commands. If you are a FOLLOWER of Christ, you follow him and do what he does. verse of the morning: John 15:9-10 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

forgiveness and love

Image
another one on forgiveness! So, kinda like i explained last time in a previous post called "Forgive and Forget", dont go to bed with a grudge or being angry at someone. We have to learn to forgive. Like it says in the bible, how many times to forgive? seventy times seven. They dont mean it literally, it pretty much means to always be forgiving. But something that kinda caught my eye was that when you ask for forgiveness through, forgive others as well. we should forgive others before we ask for forgiveness ourselves. Thats a good thing to remember. :) be forgiving be loving be understanding be patient verse of the night: Mark 11:25 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

peace.

Image
How much faith do you have. Are you able to let go? Ha.. the devos seem really repetitive lately. All about trusting and relying on God. Anyways, i guess its a good reminder. So be confident, trusting, and faithful that God will guide and protect you. Also, as students or parents or workers, we worry a lot, whether if its about finances, studies, marks, friends, housing, anything, we need to learn to give it back to God. Give him our burdens, our problems. Cast our anxieties onto him. He'll relieve us. Although he already knows what we need, we should still talk to him. Its good for communication too. He will give us everlasting peace if we cast our troubles onto him. verse of the morning: Psalm 55:22 22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Made For You

Image
God has a place for you. He has made a spot for you in heaven. The moment you accepted him as your personal saviour, he started to plan and make your very own spot in heaven. Not only does he make a place for you, but he's gonna do the honor of coming down, back to earth, just to bring you there himself. Something in the devo tonight that caught my eye was "those who love the Lord be like the sun when it rises in its brightness." The devo had a lot of sun and moon, light and night analogy, comparing God to Satan, Holiness to Sin. And the main concept? we belong in the light. God's gate and arms will always be open to and for you. He's just waiting for you to run into his arms to return to Him. Awaiting away. As well as the treasures in heaven and the life as a Christian. Wont regret it. verse of the night: Judges 5:31 31 “So may all your enemies perish, LORD! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had

the Wise.

Image
The wise will turn. The wise will ask. The wise will understand. We need to learn to turn to God. We need to humble ourselves down and realize that we cant do anything, we cant do it all by ourselves. Turn to God and he will provide you with the wisdom if you ask. God's wisdom is so great, vast and unknown, we cant understand all of it. We need God's guidance to help us through it. He has a plan for you and its completely unpredictable. You have no idea what God has instore for us. But when he reveals it to us slowly, we'll understand and will be amazed. verse of the morning: James 1:5 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

the conquerer of Death

Image
God saves us from DEATH. He came down from heaven to conquer death. He came down, to us, in the flesh, as a human, and faced everything we will/have/are facing. He conquered it all. Even death, and therefore so can we. no "he's God though!!". We can do it too. And the best part is that we got the best guide to help conquer all this! HE HIMSELF! Believe and trust in him. We will be granted eternal life, but if you reject him, you haven't confessed yourself as a sinner and his wrath will stay upon you. Have faith. He will be your light. He will be your guide. verse of the night: John 3:36 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Glorifying Silently.

Image
This one is a bit harder to explain, so i'll directly quote them out. "Everything came from the only God, The Father, and we live for him. Everything came into being through him, and we live because of Him." "Honor the Son as they Honor the Father. Whoever doesnt honor the Son does not Honor the Father who sent him." Sacrifice is one of the greatest ways to honor Christ. Whether if its as simple as giving offering to give back to God, or something great, like giving up your time with your friends to talk to a kid who's lonely, or giving up something you love for the less fortunate. Glorifying God doesnt have to be something extravagant, where the whole world knows, or even anything you need to do. You can simply do it in quiet, in peace, in solitude. and Glorify Silently. verse of the morning: Psalm 50:23 23 Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”

The Temple Of Christ

Image
Just like this morning, a fell short of God's glory and he once again just took his GODLY hand and smacked me in the face. What a wake up call. God is always living among us whether we notice it or not. He will not leave us because he loves us. I dont know how the devo transitioned it so well, but here it wont. Our body is a temple of God. Treat it well. Keep it pure. Whatever you do to your body, you're doing to God. So if its a tattoo or piercing, think about it. What are you putting on your body.. what are you doing to God's body? Think carefully. verse of the evening: 2 Corinthians 6:16 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

blameless until he returns...

Image
This morning, i faced another round of Satan's battles. Just came at me. and i lost. And look at what God sends me to read. What a smack in the face. God wants us all to be blameless when Jesus returns. Of course now, that is completely impossible. We are all sinners and we will all sin. But he wants us to try. We have to have the willpower to fight against sin to then be as blameless as we can before he comes back. We should try our best and do anything and everything that will help us achieve it. It will be hard. BELIEVE ME. Its hard right now. Fighting here and there, we get tired. I DEFINITELY get tired. I want to give up, but have accountability. Have someone there to push you and boost you if you ever fall. God will also be there to provide the strength and power to do good, to achieve this and to keep going. It will be hard, it will be tough. Pray. Accountability. Trust. Faith. Strength. Blameless. verse of the morning: 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 16 May our Lord Jesus Chris

Romans 12:1-2

Image
1-2 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. romans12:1-2

Be Thirsty

Image
Thirsty. Are you thirsty? Probably for sin, or water, juice, soup, food? But God? We should always have a thirst for God. Everywhere we are, we need to thirst to know him more, thirst his love, thirst his trust and his love. Thirst for the unbreakable bond in your faith with him. Thirst and you will be satisfied. God satisfies our thrist with LOVE and his Word. Reading his Word revives us, and gives us strength to get through day after day. His love helps us forgive and love others because he first loved us. This in my devo really caught me; "I have asked one thing from the Lord. this I will seek: to remain in the Lord's house all the days of my life in order to gaze at the Lord's beauty and to search for an answer in his temple." Seek our God and You will find Him. Thirst For God and He Will Satisfy. verse of the night: John 6:35 35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be

Exaltation.

Image
Again, surprisingly on a sunday morning, the devo before i head to church is again about worship. This morning, it brought to me that we should always be proclaiming God's good to others. This doesnt necessarily mean saying it to their face "GOD IS GOOD, GOD IS GREAT!". Its showing and reflecting God's good through and by you to others. They should be able to pick it up themselves. At times, yes we can exalt loudly and full out, but you dont need to do exactly that just to glorify God. Always be glorifying him. On you way to school, before you sleep, at home, at church. ALL YEAR ROUND. Not only Exalt, but thankfulness. I've come to realize and learn this these past few years. We need to be thankful. We take things for granted ALL THE TIME. We dont understand that (exaggerated) God can easily take our life in a snap. So be thankful in the morning that you have another day to live, be thankful that you have education, be thankful you have friends and family that y

Forgive and Forget!

Image
If you confess and repent of your sins, God will overlook your sins. He never will keep your sins recorded to judge and condemn you in heaven. And since God should be our true and only example, since.. he is the best example, do the same. Dont hold grudges, dont stay mad at someone, like it says in Ephesians, 26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold." So how can you avoid this? Just simple if anyone does something wrong towards you, take the initiative to turn the leaf to the other side and forgive. This action of not seeking revenge is... difficult, and God will guide and help you to fight against it so you dont fall into satan's grasp. By seeking revenge, not forgiving, and holding grudges, you sin and that gives Satan the foothold. So learn to forgive and forget, to love, to be understanding. verse of the night: Micah 7:18-19 18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives th

The Strong Tower

Image
Like the first line of my devo this morning, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower. A righteous person runs to it and is safe." I guess its true. We always should abide in the Lord. He's probably the strongest tower we'll ever find. Think about it. He's the creator of you and me, the animals outside, the sky and the seas, the planet, and the universe. What is more powerful that someone who can do that? Interestingly, the past few devotions have touched the same topic of trust, and how God will not abandon nor forsake us. He'll always be here when we call upon him, when we seek him. Like it says somewhere... he knocks on the door to our heart. He's always there. Its just up to us to open that door for him. He has rescued us from sin and Satan through sending his son to die on the cross for us (John 3:16) and he will rescue us from this world of pain, sorrow, tears, and sadness. Heaven is a place of joy, happiness, and no sin what so ever. So .. pretty

pinky promise?

Image
God really does keep his promises. I was talking previously about having some friendship problems, i do pray about it. Quite a bit too. Turns out i was just overthinking. stupid stupid me. God is faithful and true. All the prophesies in the Bible made before Jesus Christ came true. God keeps his promises and he wont forget it. Sometimes we feel like God doesnt hear our prayers when we pray to him, but the truth is he hasnt forgotten about us. His answer could be YES, NO, or WAIT. We have to remember the wait. God will never always give us what we want. He will keep his promise though. He promises to care for you, to keep you safe and to love you. verse of the night: Deuteronomy 7:9 9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

remember me

Image
On a scale, God is WAYYY UP THERE and we are pretty down there. There's obviously a giant gap between the creation and the creator, but although he's almighty, amazing, and beyond the stars, think about this. He still cares for each and every one of us. He still has a special plan made for us. Dont you find that just a bit amazing? Thats pretty awesome. He's made everything in the world, from the pieces of grass, to the snow falling outside, but he still remembers us and our likes, dislikes, needs, wants, worries, and achievements. In awe. Think about the drastic contrast. verse of the morning: Jeremiah 29:10-11 10 This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Servants to Friends

Image
God has changed our status. According to John 15:14-15, servants are those who are clueless about their master's doing, but us Christians on the other hand do know what God, our master is doing. So he's calling us friends than servants. Truly, if we believe, we are the children of God, and we serve him back because he sacrificed his life for us. As John states, it kinda proves how Christianity isnt a religion, but a relationship. As a religion, we have to do things to get something, like slaves, and servants, while in a relationship, we are friends and we develop the bond. Something that REALLY caught my eye was... Proverbs 18:24. It says " 24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Lately, i've been REALLY in like overthinking mood, and just gaajdhfakjdshfakjsdhfdaf mood. But that last line, "a friend who sticks closer than a brother"... hm. i've kinda been thinking about giving

we're blessed.

Image
This morning talked about being blessed by our Lord. He's given us so much and helped us be so successful. God has blessed us with everything we do. He's the one that gives us the strength to do good. We really have no idea about the amount of blessings we have from him. Try it. If you can read this, you've been blessed (ha i already know i've used this one already.. but w.e). Look around. look at what you have, you have so much and its all because of the Lord. He's almighty, all-knowing, so "entrust your efforts to the Lord and your plans will succeed!" i guess that makes sense with exams in the way. We have to trust ourselves and trust God that he'll help us focus, we'll work hard and do our best, and our plan to succeed.. will succeed! :) Sounds logical right? verse of the morning: 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 en

speak no evil.

Image
After reading tonight's devo, i feel that it is a very good reminder that we should constantly remember. From the title and the photo, you can probably guess its about the mouth. Yes. We often forget how much power we have with our speech and our mouth. A simple word or phrase can easily break a relationship or build one. It is a dangerous weapon and you have to choice, to use it for good, or for bad. As it states in James 3:10, out of your mouth can come praise and evil. So be careful with what you say. Whether if its a joke, or there's something implied under it, be careful. You are supposed to be a example to others, and a reflection of Christ. You have to do that through everything. Not only your deeds, but through your speech as well. I personally must say that sometimes i conform to my surroundings and so speak with bad implications, but nobody's perfect, we can only try our best to be for God. As it says in the verse for this post, "truth lasts forever but lie

Rest Up

Image
Again, God has done it again, i woke up today SO SO TIRED. I couldnt go through my day. I really wanted to go back to sleep but to my amazement, i had to willpower to get up! but why? i actually think it was because of the commitment to my devos. I knew that if i skipped it this morning, i would easily have just let this slide. And to my rescue, the devo this morning is about rest. Today it said that God saves us from spiritual fatigue. Although its not the same kind of tiredness im experiencing atm, its something i think we all go through. As we fight through life, we get tired, as we fight to defeat sin and satan, we lose hope, as we fight day after day and night after night, motivation seems to disappear, and God is the one here that gives us that boost, gives us the power and strength to fight through it. We cant give up. God will give us rest. verse of the morning: Matthew 11:28 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. rest up, time to fig

The End

Image
this kinda relates to this mornings devotional, and it kinda relates to my day as well. So, like this morning, we talked about Jesus coming for the second time. But i guess we (assuming), but probably I havent thought about it to a more detailed extent. When he returns, he wont be coming to save us from sin. He wont be coming to turn our lives around. He'll be coming to BRING us. Whoever is faithful, whoever is true, whoever is loyal, and whoever is a true follower, he will bring them into heaven. He's not going to die in the cross again for us, he wont save us from our sins. He's already done that. This time around, he's here to bring us home. As stated in previous posts, life is hard, its like a race, many hardships, many obstacles. Sometimes you may feel like you're running out of breath, sometimes you may feel like you're about to pass out, but God will provide you with that little water guy to give you that relief and encouragement and power to keep runni

Soon... but When?

Image
wow, every morning i do this, im surprised i even have the willpower to get up just that tad early to do it. And now im so into it... i feel like i have to post it. or else. ha. so today was about Jesus' second coming. In the bible it states that he will return, just no one knows when he will, but we need to have faith and trust that he will be back to save us and get us to bring us into Heaven. He has told us that he has made room for us in heaven, so he'll have to come back to take us there right? As you've probably noticed.. Heaven doesnt not mean Earth, so while we await this amazing moments, we have to learn to look up and not in front. The things of this world will not last, whether if its sex, materialistic things, pride, awards and achievements, anything except our faith will die and rust and destroy. All these things do bring us some kind of pain or trouble in our lives, but when he returns, he'll get ride of that. no pain. no sin. no sadness. no tears. no

I Want To See Again

Image
Seeing. I can truly say that we, as human beings take many many many things for granted. ESPECIALLY when we're in such a luxurious life. If you can read this, this means you've been blessed with internet, a computer, which probably means you're pretty rich compared to the rest of the world. But SIGHT is something i think we all DEFINITELY take for granted. Can you imagine a day you wake up and you're completely blind? Which kinda relates to the devo i read tonight. It was about being blind, SPIRITUALLY, and then having God give us our sight back. Sight to see his love for us, sight to understand his word, and sight and understand his plans for us. Everything good that has blessed us is from the Lord. We need to ask God for this vision though. This cannot be completed by one self, you need to Lord to heal you from your blindness. This also isnt a one time thing. You can easily become blinded again, especially with the society today around us, we can easily lose our foc

the True Road Map.

Image
Recently, i've been really thinking about whats going on. I couldnt believe what was happening with my life... and just everything altogether. The next thing you know it, its 2011 and its already the new year, but this morning's devo really helped me out. I love when that happens. So SCHOOL is in like 30mins, so i gotta be quick. Today, it talked about how God is the TRUE road map, the best guide, if you will. He'll continue to guide us through our ups and downs, "in the valley of death". So there shouldnt be anything we are afraid of, while knowing God is right there, by our side. So after reading, i realized that im going to take the plunge into 2011, completely blinded, except with God's hand in mine, and we'll take it on together. Something that was a good reminder to me for this devo was one of the last few sentences. It read.. "he leads us beyond death". I guess i've always known that but i've never thought about it that way. The

"i close my eyes, and, pray"

Image
After reading tonight's devotional, it was a bit.. confusing at first. Talking about incense... and like some alter specifications, i had no idea what was going on. But later on, with a bit more deeper thinking and analysis, i interpreted it as prayer. How prayer should be like offering incense to God. As it said in the devo, "May your prayer be pleasing to God". In the bible times (if you will), incense was used to please God through offering it, so nowadays, our prayer should do the same thing. It states that "incense must burn constantly in the Lord's presence". So, if prayer is like incense, then ... PRAYER must burn (be done) constantly in the Lord's presence. And because we are always in the Lord's presence, we should constantly pray. It doesnt mean literally 24/7 but it needs to be done often. Its a good way of communication, letting out your worries and troubles, and just connecting to God. Personally, i know that i need to do the same and

Sing Hard, Fight Hard.

Image
(does my title even make sense) this morning, read the devo, and WOW, i dont know what it was, but once i got to worship (late) :S it was like REAL worship. usually its just sing sing sing, but this time.. it was SING SING SING. Intense tings. Anyways, So what i got out of this morning (although its almost 5pm..) To always praise God to the MAX and wholeheartedly. We shouldnt be afraid to worship him, we should have a desire to since... he died for us and we should be thankful and want to give back. i dont know why in my devo.. it just randomly jumped from singing and praise.. to.. salvation but OKAY! Salvation is something we are GIVEN (and we choose to take it or not), not something that is EARNED. But because of God's grace, we should do whatever we can to follow him. We must stop with the sinful nature and be like our Lord Jesus Christ. yah.. i found this devo really... choppy. but thats what i got! :) sing hard, and fight hard for GOD! verse of the morning: Romans 13:11-

Abandon-Free God

Image
WOW, if i did this EVERYDAY for both morning and evening. thats like +700 posts in a year. wowzers. i think i probably will be only able to post once a day though. we'll see what happens. SO tonight's devo was about God never abandoning you. I guess we've all felt as if he has abandoned us, but he does that only to test our faith. He's secretly there, it just doesnt seem like it. He will not abandon us but will guide us through out troubles, and nothing can separate us from his love for us. Have you heard the footprints story? the end, it talks about how we walk with the lord, but we sometimes just see one pair of footprints in the sand... and we believe that God has abandoned us.. but the truth is, he was always there. he was carrying us through it. verse of the night: Psalm 37:23-24, Psalm 73:23-24 (ironic how they're both 23-24, and reciprocals?) 23 The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; 24 though he may stumble, he will not

Run To The Goal

Image
here goes my first post! of the 2011 year! Okay, so just gonna be real casual. So basically, today was about running the race of LIFE, not to gain salvation but to please God. I've learnt that LIFE is a test. of faith. Through all the hardships, the obstacles that we face, we'll have to go through it, and God allows all that so he can test our faith and see if we stick to him or drift away. We should also run in the mindset of WINNING. ha of course. Technically, this race has a prize for EVERYONE, its just about if you get there or not by the end. And like it said today in the devo, "Do whatever it takes to win the race, rid of hindrances (sins) that slow you down. And on another note, this really helped! I wrote it down on a sheet of paper, and it stuck with me ALL DAY, so im def on the right track. I hope to post everyday.. but if not, hopefully every once in a while. ;) verse of the morning: Hebrews 12:1-2 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud
