"For Your Heart Will Be Where Your Treasure Is"

Each day we live OF the world, we fall into the grasps of idolatry, of materialism, of indulgence and temptation.

Each day we live IN the world with our Savior by our side, we live with true freedom, with true joy, with suffering as we learn to fight off these temptations.

We have to learn to avoid and steer clear of false Gods. Satan has strategically placed them in your life to help bring you down, to help drag you away, to tempt and lure you off the path of righteousness. If you are not firm in your faith, and do not stand strong, you can and most likely will fall away from your faith. Even if you say you dont, there's a chance that you're living as a lukewarm Christian. Diving deep into the engulfing hole of sin which playing off as a Christian. Which.. is just as bad.

Colossians 3:5 says 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Money. That has been huge ever since anyone could ever remember. Today's society, money is valued above all else. Some say it brings happiness, and i can honestly say that it can bring happiness. to an extent. Everything is ranked nowadays, from the high class to low class on the airplanes, to the one carat ring to the 12039812093-who-knows-how-many carat rings, the brand names to the no-names, NOTHING on this planet is not ranked.

But that isnt the purpose in life. Society says that the one with the most money will be most sucessful but as Christ followers, that isnt the case. We dont really need money. We know and trust that God will provide for those who need. He doesnt abandon, he doesnt leave us hanging. Just in my devotional it says "Certainly the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." I agree.

Actually, i've just realized that lately maybe thats been kinda affecting me. My friend has recently gotten a job as a lifeguard, and i distinctly remember him telling me his pay he'll get every month. It was NOTHING compared to what i get from allowance and my "job" (if you can even call it that). I was jealous in a way. A little because i wanted money to spend... but also, like he said he treated his parents to a meal, i wanna do that, and its been maybe a month now and i've been thinking, "i want a job", "i want money". Thats the completely wrong attitude. Yes we should work hard and give back to our family, but dont like money and spending be your number one motivation. Pray that this money issue doesnt get to the best of me or anyone else and may it not sprout into a plant of sin and darkness.

19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

matthew6:19-24

Lastly, just as my title says, "Better Than Gold, Better Than Silver". What can possibly be better? Salvation. Eternal life. As God states, in heaven, streets are made out of gold, whatever God gives and blesses you with is 100% better than the most precious, money-valued thing on this world. I have NO IDEA what its gonna be like, but i know God keeps his promises and i'll await it when i enter the golden gates.

"What I Produce Is Better Than Gold, Pure Gold. What I Yield Is Better Than Fine Silver."

As the first line of this post says, Your Heart Is Where Your Treasure Is. Let God be your treasure. Not the things of this world.

verse of the night: 1 Samuel 16:9
7But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."
