Pick One

Day 39
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lordand who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. - Psalm 1
"The one who joins the wicked will not be blessed. But the one who indulges in the Word, indulging in the living water will prosper and be blessed. The wicked will wither and fade away. The Lord watches over the righteous and will judge both the wicked and righteous accordingly."

While reading this passage over again for the fourth time, what stood out to me was how distinct both sides were. There is either the wicked or the righteous. The scripture never talks about the grey area in between, and God wants us to pick a side. We cannot be on the fence, or on both sides. When God judges us, he will only divide us into two groups, we will either live or perish based on your faith and devotion to Christ as a follower. So what will you choose?

My Prayer: Father, you are a just god. There is no grey area with you. May you remind us of the importance of righteous living and may we truly apply it into our lives, not just by saying it but by listening and acting on it. Continue to guide us and push us towards a life worthy for you. Amen.
