This is the greatest sacrifice. We probably have no idea how brutal crucifixion was back then. If you really wanna know how everything worked, check it out here. God sent his one and only son to be like one of us. Born at the lowest of the lows so he could connect to us. Now, he couldve came all glorified and majestic over all, but he didnt. But most importantly, he came to destroy the devil. Conquer sin and prove he is the true God.
