Healer

Day 9

1 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.” Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?”But they remained silent. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man,“Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus. - Mark 3:1-6

"are you incapacitated in any part of you life?" asked the booklet, and I thought about it for some time, and I couldnt think of anything that is personally applicable to me in the moment. The past week has really taught me the meaning of letting go and giving it all to God, as I strive for righteous living. Is there anything holding me back, crippling me from drawing closer to God? I have seen several of us Christians held back by pride, greed, and idolatry, and it often hinders us from growing closer to God.

Reading through this passage, it was a great reminder that Jesus heals. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually too. Whether if we are discouraged, broken hearted, or are actually facing a physical crippling, Christ forever gives life to all aspects of life.

My Prayer: God, you are powerful and you heal us. No matter what may be holding me back from you, materialism, lust, or jealousy, may you set us free from it so we can grow in you, abiding in your sovereign and almighty presence. Amen.
