Forgiven

Day 18
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. - Mark 11:25
S - is there a sin to confess?
P - is there a promise to claim?
A - is there an attitude to change?
C - is there a command to obey?
E - is there an example to follow?
P - is there a prayer to pray?
E - is there an error to avoid?
T - is there a truth to believe?
S - is there something to praise God for?

S - As the verse implies, I think the sin needed to be confessed is the grudge against others. I've learnt that a grudge does no good, it rots inside of you and makes you an overall more bitter person. Forgive and relieve that burden, not only for them but for yourself.

P - God promises us that he will forgive us. We must learn to do the same, should we expect someone to do something for us that we ourselves dont even do for others?

A - N/A

C - Its simple, forgive.

E - Christ says earlier in Matthew 18:22 to forgive endlessly, "not seven, but seventy seven times". Follow and set your eyes on Jesus, the true and ultimate example.

P - Pray for forgiveness for ourselves. We are sinners, broken people, who fall short of God's glory, constantly needed repentance and forgiveness to be made right with God again and again.

E - dont hold grudges towards other people who may have wronged or hurt you.

T - God will forgive you no matter how "bad" the sin is (even though all sin are equally as bad in God's eyes).

S - Praise God for his grace, love and mercy on us. Giving us new life, away and victorious over sin.

I've learnt that repentance is needed daily. As flawed beings, we are always falling short of God's glory, but repentance reminds us of the grace and love he has shown us and it puts us in a position of awe, and wonder that we push ourselves to live for Him because of his love.

My Prayer: God, thank you for your love and grace. You've loved us endlessly, whether we are broken or at fault. Forgive us of the sins we commit against you and give us the ability to forgive those around us too. Let us forgive as you have forgiven. Amen.
