Laundry Day

Now that we have decided to be with Christ, to have him live in us, we must practice our devotion with holy living. We must realize that the materialistic and earthy things on this earth will fade, and that we should focus on what is eternal instead, for they satisfy forever.

Paul explains holy living as if you were changing your outfit or clothes. We once rolled in the mud, fell in puddles and are covered in dirt. Our filthy clothes that are stained with sexual immorality, lust, greed, rage, anger, slander, and idolatry. But in Christ, we are to take off and put down those rags we once owned and put on a new fresh and clean set of clothes, cleansed from all sinful things. They're threaded with humility, kindness, patience, gentleness, forgiveness and love. As we put it on, we're to live out those characteristics as well.

Paul guarantees us that when we put on this new self, and live accordingly, we will experience true peace, and true joy. With the scriptures, we will be enlightened and enriched with Christ, the spirit, and wisdom to stray far away from our old ways.

When we dedicate our lives to Christ, we're going all in, the full 100%. We're encouraged to do all things in the name of the Lord with thanksgiving. Our submission to him includes our working, our driving, our chores, our eating and drinking. Every act, dedicate and give it to the Lord for his glory.

verse of the day: Colossians 3:15-17
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do,whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
