Exodus: Raw Power

The famous miracle performed by Moses, parting the Red Sea. After the Israelites were set free and escaped Egypt, the Egyptians followed them after getting the news. In this Chapter, God had already planned the entire situation, making all things work together for good, may it be for Moses, or for God himself. God used Moses to part the sea and showed his majestic power by drowning the Egyptians as the waters came back together.

God is powerful. He performs miraculous signs that are both creative, and grand as well. Sometimes when i read of these signs and miracles, i dont think i truly realize how powerful God is. I've always heard these as stories, but ive never thought of them as actually happening, having a body of water part, making a path, or trying to fathom water turning into wine. I've said in a previous post that we need to learn to fear God, but without realizing how great our God is, we cannot fear him.

Similarly to the Egyptians, we are all doomed to death because of our sin. We deserve this ultimate punishment, but this God, this great God gave us hope and gave us the gift of salvation if we believe. Take time time to really think about God's greatness and about his power. His love for us, his overflowing grace and everlasting hope he's granted us. Be thankful and praise him for how great he truly is.

verse of the day: Nahum 1:3

The Lord is slow to anger but great in power;    the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm,    and clouds are the dust of his feet.
