true worship

i've got to say that i've always longed for this.
the ability to pour my heart out during worship
give it all up to God
but time after time, it hasn't happened.

Today, i got to go to the father's day dinner at church, and at the end they did a bit of worship. I couldn't sing along because it was in chinese... but as i listened and looked around, i was really moved. I was surprised to be learning about true worship in a crowd of three hundred asian adults, singing, and praising.

First things first, listening to a crowd of people sing in unison is so moving to me. I don't know what it is but its just so powerful, that everyone is singing at the same time, you can feel the warmth and the worship surrounding you.

Looking around, since i couldn't sing along, i noticed this one person who was worshipping, and i could tell it was true worship. During the set, they asked people to wave their hands in the air, and you can easily tell who was doing it, and who was "doing" it. The one person, i could tell she was completely devoted, and that it was true worship.

How do you get that? How do you have the feeling?

Thinking through it, i think its when you truly grasp God's greatness and his love for us, then you can express your love back to him. But it also depends on the worship itself, the song, and all, if the lyrics are off and cannot express praise, then its harder to worship.

At the same time, a good reminder is that worship doesn't have to be through praises, you can simply thank Him in a prayer, and just living it out each day.

is your worship whole-hearted? or half-hearted?

verse of the day: Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;     I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
