Remain Faithful

It is through our hardships and sufferings that God's glory is shown. It depends on how we respond and act towards this trials that determine whether we can fully rely and trust in God or not.
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
- 2 Corinthians 6:4-10
How do you respond to the obstacles of life?

Paul touches on another obstacle we may face too as believers, the yoking and joining with unbelievers. Paul calls us to not be yoked with unbelievers. And it makes sense. If we are people of the light, and they are people of the darkness, they cant go together. If you live in the world and they live of the world, it just doesnt make sense. Its as simple as water and oil. It cannot and should not go together. For one, when we become yoked, in a relationship with them, it is very easy for our emotions and desires to overpower us. We may end up dragged away from our faith, blinded by our yearnings and urges. Paul even questions the harmony between Christ and Belial (v.15). Belial is a name for satan that means worthlessness and destruction. How could something so good and pure be joined with something so evil? Paul really shows the severity of this issue.

We are called to remain faithful in Christ. He has promised to walk with us and to guide us as long as we remain in Him. So let us do so.

verse of the day: 2 Corinthians 6:16

16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
