"a temple"

12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1corinthians6:12-20

Your body. It has been given to you by God. Sometimes i wake up in the morning and i realize what a blessing it is that i have another life to live. We've been given arms to use, legs to walk with, eyes to see and ears to hear.

The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. (13)

We have these arms, legs, eyes, and ears to serve the Lord with. God has given us these tools to do his ministry, to serve, to show and share his love and grace with others around us.

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (19-20)

Honour God with our bodies. In every action, every thought, every word, every sight. Make it for the Lord. No matter if its getting tattoos (that dishonour God), cutting, anything that hurts yourself. I struggle with this. Im torn between glorifying God and wanting what i want as well. This battle has been going on for years now, and i still havent found the strength to fight against it. To resist.

But i speak to those struggling with the same thing, first off, tell someone about it. Someone you trust and someone you can keep accountable. We can get through it together, and this is easier said than done for sure. I've lost hope many times, but its support from my mentor and other friends that have gotten me through this. Second, build your faith. Read the scripture, pray, share and speak with others, and build your armour as you fight against Satan. And last, push through it. It takes a long time. You will stumble, its normal, we're human, we're sinners, ask for forgiveness and get up. stand up. and get ready for another challenge.

Reward. This i find very important. But for myself, im so cheap i cant even reward myself. I should be though. This helps as a motivation. You can do it. When you achieve a goal, reward yourself, big/small, store up for something big? who knows.

Life with Christ was never said to be easy. You ready?

verse of the day: Romans 5:3-5
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
