The Fruits of The Spirit: Faithfulness

"Faithfulness"

For me, from the top of my head at the moment, faithfulness is loyalty. Are you being loyal to your friends, but more importantly, to God?

To have faith is the ability to trust in something/someone. If you have faith, you can give up everything, your problems, your materialistic things to stay by one's side. Are you faithful? How faithful are you?

I think its so important to have faith and be faithful to your friends. Everyone hates it when they are betrayed, back stabbed, and went against. We all want someone in our lives that will stick it through with us. Through the highs and lows, the happy, the sad, the hard, the celebrations. Faithfulness will also show eventually in university. When we transition from high school to university, we go separate ways. School friends, church friends, extra-curricular friends, we all head in separate directions and for myself, i always worry about my friends. I hope we do not lose contact. And sometimes i feel like that'll happen unless we go to the same university. Sometimes i focus way to much on my friends. I've thought about following them to their university, because the hopes of them coming to mine are slim. My mentor has reminded me that all our friends will eventually fail. They, no one is 100% faithful to another. But its okay. We're all sinners, and thats how we are. Flawed. But again. Back to university. The Agape Golden Duck Awards, our graduation happened last week, and they talked about how university is the true test. Who your true, faithful friends really are. Im excited to see who are the ones that stick by my side, but at the same time, im scared that the ones i love dearly are the ones that will leave me.

Faithfulness not only to your friends, but to God. Commitment is what Christianity is all about. God has done his part. He is 100% committed to you. In fact, he was committed before you even accepted him into your life. He was waiting at your door, he may be still waiting, ready to start that relationship with you. He's the only friend that will never abandon you, or betray you. But unfortunately, no matter how hard we try, we'll betray him. We sin. We are flawed. We are tempted by Satan. We fall short of his glory. But there's hope. Forgiveness. His death on the cross allowed us to stay faithful, to be forgiven, to start again. Are you faithful to Christ? Are you loyal to his commands? Are you trying?

Let's learn to be faithful with others and with God especially.

verse of the day: 1 Samuel 12:24
24 Only fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
