His Will, Not Ours

Paul now switches gears in Romans 9 to a different topic, and here he talks about the election of Israel as a nation. Im not how that can be fully applicable to today's time, but i looked at it from a more general perspective to get a better understanding of it. Although Israel was chosen as His chosen people, it may seem like they get a "better treatment" per say, but in verse 15, God says
15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.  - Romans 9:15-16
Whoever he choses, whoever he uses is apart of God's decision, it doesnt matter what we do or want, God is the one who decides. In the NIV version, v.16 says "it does not depend on man's desire or effort."At the same time, we should not be questioning God's decision either, like Paul puts it a piece of clay wouldnt talk back to the potter and ask why they were made that way. The potter decides its purpose.

We are created by God with a special purpose to be fulfilled, why would we or should we question that? God will use each of us if we are willing, and he does work mysteriously. You never know how God will use others to bring him glory.

But, at the end of the day, salvation is for everyone who believes, whether or not you were apart of "his chosen people" or not, after Christ died for mankind, anyone who believes in him, dedicates and follows him with their life wholeheartedly will be given the free gift of salvation and eternal life.

verse of the day: Romans 9:20-21
20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?
