welcome to our twisted world.

While i was on my vacation/missions trip, over twitter, the new show Suits blew up overnight or something, everyone is saying its great and extremely interesting and all. Finally today i searched it up and started to watch it. Its true, i really enjoy the non-stop, go go go vibe of drama, conflict, solution, and i really like how they can talk back at each other so confidently and can strike one another down so quickly, efficiently and effortlessly (even though thats a bad thing).

But watching the show, i realized that this is the world we live in. People use lies, and sabotage to get around and most importantly get on top. Harvey, one of the leads only cares about himself, and will do anything, break all the rules to benefit himself. I guess in the lawyer's world, but I'm pretty sure everywhere else as well, words are constantly twisted. Words are what we use to communicate, but at the same time, they can be used to encourage, and support, as well as insult and destroy.

At the same time, all the lies they told, you can barely tell who they really are. Masks are constantly worn in the world today. We all individually are slowly distancing ourselves from everyone because we don't know who to trust anymore. We put up our masks because we are scared to get hurt, we're scared to show who we really are, we're scared of judgement.

I think this world is twisted and corrupted and i think its only going to get worse. But at the same time, as Christians, we don't have to follow the world, we are the follow God and oddly enough it goes against the words of the world.

God gave us a mouth and a tongue to speak, to love, to encourage and support one another. Why bring another down? Words are powerful, the tongue has been compared to fire (James 3:6). They can really hurt, even if you meant it as a joke, it can sting. We need to learn to think before we speak. Something as simple as swearing, when you start saying it, it eventually becomes "normal" and it just slips in and out, and then when it comes to stopping, its difficult.

God made us who we are, why would you put up a mask to pretend to be someone you aren't? God made you who you are, and you shouldn't hide it or be afraid. Yes, people are hard to trust nowadays, but I'm sure God will bless you with the right people in your life, people you can be vulnerable with, talk and share with, and forever keep you accountable. Im glad that i've already met a few of these people in my life already.

Welcome to our twisted world.
We are currently residing here,
But we won't be here for long.

verse of the day: John 15:19
19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
