He Resisted All

"resist temptation"

I know i havent posted in a while, but i have been doing my devos every morning before school, i just havent written them down. But yesterday something came up that was a mind-blowing kinda thing.

Temptation. Everyone deals with it, may it be big or small, may they fall into it or not, everyone goes through this, day after day, week after week, and year after year. And again, for those reading, temptation isnt a sin. Desiring something is fine, we all have those feelings and God made them for us. But its when we act upon it and fall into Satan's trap, thats when sin comes into play.

Christ came from heaven to be born as a human, tempted and trialed. He knows exactly how it feels. Everything we go through, he can relate to. But the thing that hit me was, that Christ was perfect, sinless. But just as myself i can personally say that as time passes, temptation gets more and more intense, more and more difficult, until sometimes you weaken and fall in. But for Christ, that wasnt the problem. He was tempted, he didnt sin. He was tempted more, but he didnt sin. He was tempted for 33 years STRAIGHT throughout his lifetime on this planet, and he didnt sin. 33 years. Christ has been tempted stronger and than anyone who ever has been. Do you realize how intense that is?

And because he has been tempted so much, he can relate more and ever and "sympathize with our weaknesses" (Hebrews 4:15). This person, Christ is the SON OF GOD. He's our SAVIOR and LORD. And he can sympathize with our weaknesses. Isnt that amazing? And because he can sympathize we us, we should put our faith in Him and draw near to him.

"Remember that Jesus is "sympathetic." He feels with us, not against us." - Reason Twenty-Seven: John Piper

He knows exactly what it feels.

verse of the day: Romans 12:2
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
